Truman Show

If you have never seen the Truman Show, I will give it to you in a nutshell. A man's entire life is caught on camera for the world to see. He doesn't know they are watching. The most private parts of Truman's life are available for all to see.

Do you think that Truman would have acted different had he known that people were watching? Would you act different if you knew that people were watching you? Well you are. Not by your peers, but by your Heavenly Father. He sees and knows all.

Today as you go about your business and are presented with that moment of decision to do right or wrong. Realize the eyes of the Holy Spirit are on you. Hopefully this is motivation enough to do right even when no one else is around.

TPQ - The Firefighter

A firefighter buys a really nice stereo for the Chief's firetruck. In the process of setting the stereo up he is called out to a house fire. ALONE. When he gets to the fire he stays in the truck. He sees a family trapped in a second story window screaming for help. The firefighter signed up for this very thing, to rescue those who would die without his help. The firefighter remained in the truck. At that moment he felt Ill- equipped to save these people... he simply didn't know what to do. So instead of trying to help in some fashion and use the fire equipment he did have, the firefighter chose to keep working on the Chief's new radio. Witnesses looked on in horror as a Mother clinching an infant jumped to her death all within the firefighters sight. When the witnesses screams turned to anger toward him, the firefighter simply put on headphones to drown out the noise. Soon after a father clutching two more children fell from the building to their deaths. The firefighter had plenty of time to attempt a rescue. He did nothing.

The firefighter pleaded no contest in this case. The defense however said that because he felt ill-equipped and because of his generous gift of a stereo to the fire department his sentence should be lessened.

If you were the Judge in this case... what sentence would you hand down to the firefighter?
